Mia Cara Coaching is a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping individuals and organisations achieve their personal and professional goals.

Set up by founder Rebekah Gallagher it is named after her lead mare and 'Anam Cara " and soul friend Mia.

Mia, a big Irish mare, entered Rebekah's life during a time of profound need, bringing with her a bond that transcended the ordinary.

Despite Rebekah's time with horses over many years, she recognized Mia as different. Their connection deepened, and Rebekah found herself learning invaluable lessons from Mia.

Through Mia's gentle guidance, Rebekah discovered resilience, patience, vulnerability, and the importance of setting boundaries with compassion and strength. As Rebekah reflected on their bond, she realized that she was not the sole beneficiary of Mia's wisdom. Others, too, were touched by the healing power of connection with Mia.

A bad accident shook the small herd, when new mare, Kyra was introduced causing a rift that demanded both physical and emotional healing for all.

Through dedication, education, and a foundation of vulnerability and love, Rebekah and the little herd with the support of her dogs Jack, Damson and River  embarked on a journey of repair and growth that continues to this day.  What followed was a decision to embark on a complete retraining in Equine Behavour, Ethology, Equine and a Human Trauma Recovery and Masters in Anthrozoology adding to an experience of Management Training, Coaching and Embodiment and Yoga. Research continues in the field of Human Horse Interaction, especially trauma, sports trauma and PTSD and animal assisted intervention.

Mia's presence remains a guiding force, her wisdom continuing to influence the legacy she has left at Mia Cara.  As Kyra steps forward into a leadership role alongside Rebekah, these bonds serves as a testament to the enduring power of healing and growth through mutual understanding and love.

Human and non human team members alike make up the extended team of Mia Cara, and it is very typical to have dogs, cats, horses, and other species in animal assisted along with human facilitators contributing their energy and capacity to support the journey of healing, learning and growth for all.

Welcome to Mia Cara.

Shadowy Leaves

John O'Donohue

In everyone's life, there is great need for an anam cara, a soul friend. In this love, you are understood as you are without mask or pretension. The superficial and functional lies and half-truths of social acquaintance fall away, you can be as you really are.
